No change - November 23, 2009.

Eyes no different, - Focus in Kingston has been good - but admits that I must've healed so quickly that my eyes did their own thing.
I have now purchased 3 pairs of glasses - trying to get an inexpensive 'fit' to drive etc. - Focus has provided me with 2 lens changes as well.
I will return for a check up in January and perhaps have eyes re-done in February.
Focus assures me that they'll get it right and I will be pleased in the end.

So, now I know...October 20, 2009

October 20, 2009

Well, I thought I was crazy - I couldn't see except within a foot of my face, so I asked to see the surgeon - I sent him a letter actually, and today he and his assistant spent a lot of time with me..they're both super! I had another Wavefront done (reads everything and prints it out), along with other tests.  My eye health is good, however.......
Indeed, I fall into that very very small percentage who heals differently, and it is clear that I will have to have the procedure done again - but not until probably February.  (Perhaps I'll have it re-done on my birthday - that date is available!) -- almost funny!

Discouraging, but at least I know!  I will tolerate the situation until then, wearing glasses when necessary (for any except reading), and life will go on.  We'll hope for the best after Christmas.  Yesterday, I took the front bumper off the car in a parking garage due to my lousy depth perception!  Sheesh!

Will keep you up to date!

It's a Month! - October 10, 2009

October 10, 2009.

Well, I wish I could say that this has been a dream come true, but my eyes seems to have settled into a very myopic state... -1.25 in my left eye and -3.00 in my right eye required in glasses to drive, or see across the room for that matter.  Frustrating - Focus Eye Centre says that if this is still the case in early November when I return, then I will probably have to "just have (my eyes) tweaked"...I asked them not to use the word "just" when it comes to my eyes.  I am falling into a very small number of people who just don't heal in the same way as the rest of the population.  I asked if I would receive a refund if it doesn't work the 2nd time around, but was told that "typically, refunds are not issued due to all the consent forms that were signed"  .I'll let you know what happens...!

Happy Thanksgiving (Canadian)

October 1, 2009

I'm a little discouraged - make that alot discouraged.  Nothing has changed for the better.  I see well up VERY close, but aside from that, my clear vision falls within 3 1/2 feet - even my feet and ground are fuzzy when I look down.  When I go on Tuesday, I will be asking them to look me in the eye (better be my right eye, up very close, so I can see the doctor...) and tell me that nothing went wrong during my procedure.

I am driving - with a prescription - ...and not with great confidence.

Rats!

A little more than 2 weeks.

September 26, 2009

My eyes  feel great, but I still need a fairly strong prescription to see any distance and of course, I need them to drive and ....funny, now I am hearing from others that it has taken them "forever" or "ages and ages" or "thought (they) never would..." to get used to the monovision, but that one day it all just happens.

I'm counting on it!

Moving along...Saturday, September 19, 2009

My friend tells me that I am to 'hang in' and that she had to have the procedure done twice, -- perhaps I will have to as well, as today all vision is blurry except for within 10 -12 inches of my face.

I walked to my party  shop - can't see anyone's face (am well known here and evryone passing waves to me - luckiily, if they call out, I recognize the voice!) The sidewalk is blurry. I stop at my local small grocer to buy a can of soup for lunch and can read the label if I bring it up very close.

I'm determined though, and realize that it's important to be positive.  It feels as though there is something floating in my right eyes.  It's sore.  My left eye feels great - no discomfort at all -- that's good, right?

Day 8, September 18, 2009

Vision poor today - very very short in my right eye - woke up with pain in my right eye.
I am finished with drops which I used religiously as per the instructions. I will hang on until Tuesday, and have discovered from another patient friend of mine, that a re-do of the Wavefront Analysis would show what the problem is -- am sure Focus will look after this -- I'm trusting that they will.

Will try to stay off the computer today to rest my eyes...

Onward and upward!
