First off, let me say that my reason for considering laser vision was based on my frustration as an event planner and balloon artist, and the total nuisance that glasses presented.
Until I was in my late 40s, I had better than perfect vision - 20/18 and then...in what seemed like a blink of an eye, my vision declined...first cheater glasses (you know, the ones that you buy at the local discount shop or pharmacy), then prescription for reading, then bifocals, then on top of bifocals, other cheaters for the computer only. Sheesh! I am 59.
I went chose Focus Eye Centre in Ottawa. I could have gone to either location - Ottawa or Kingston - about equal-distance for me, but my husband works in Ottawa and had many colleagues who had used Dr. Edmison's services and had been very pleased - some thrilled, might I say.
I had my free, no strings attached, consultation, which was pleasant and thorough, and passed through 5 stages.
It was explained to me by Dr. Edmison that Monovision SBK procedure would be carried out - my dominant eye (in my case, the left) would be for distance, and my right eye for reading and other up close activities. Okay, I'm in - let's go for it...deposit paid - date: September 10, 2009 - 8:30 a.m.
