Day 5 - Monday, September 14th

September 14, 2009

Called the clinic - I'm to come in at 4:15 - I tried driving yesterday, but didn't think that it was in the interest of public safety for me to drive in the city, so my husband took the day off again.

This time I see Marc again  - and on the way saw the doctor that I really like - she assures me that when the contact in my right eye comes out things will be so much better. Oh good!

Marc tests my vision thoroughly - still very poor and doubled - has a look in my eyes and lets me know that the left is well healed and the right eye can have the contact removed.
I can't wait -- however --------when it comes out, my close up vision is so near I have to hold things up into within 10-12" of my face....OH NO!
I am given a prescription for glasses for nearsightedness and tells me that it looks as though I am a bit unusual and he'll run it by the surgeon and that they'll cover $60 toward the glasses......

I'm slightly discouraged, but determined, so we start searching the web and I realize that I'm in pretty good company, but that probably my age has as much to do with my inability to adjust to the Monovision as anything and perhaps it would be good for others to know that.
Perhaps I'm in that 3% who just never adjust. I'm not asking that Focus Eye make that call yet - as I really, really, really want this to work and will do whatever is necessary.
